Been tasked to plan the perfect hen do by your bride-to-be bestie? Don't. Freak. Out. Here are some top tips to planning the perfect send off for the hens....
Step One - Research
Check out our hen & stag party suppliers here to gather ideas on what you'd like to do. Although you want to keep it a surprise, ask the bride-to-be to give you some basic ideas around what type of day and night they'd like. You may know her well already, but it's good to chat it out and also consider the type of people who will be attending. Not everyone is up for a weekend in Magaluf!
Step Two - The Budget
When you've decided what you'd like to do, cost it up including transport, hotels, food, drinks and extra costs which may be involved (including the essential sashes and hen plates!). Discreetly ask what kind of budget attendees can afford so everyone can make it - there's no point booking a weekend in a luxurious Dubai hotel when your guests have budgeted for a karaoke and cocktail night in a local bar!

Step Three - Set Up a Facebook Group
This is the easiest way to keep everyone in the loop, especially if you don't personally know all of the guests. Share photos, ideas and details of the pricing, and keep track of who is doing what to spread the workload.
Step Four - Get Payments
It's so common for bridesmaids to be left out of pocket or for awkward situations asking for money on the night of the hen do. Make it clear from the start the cost for the activities, and state a date to pay by on the Facebook group. Make sure everyone has paid well in advance, so if anyone drops out you don't lose the deposit money you paid out personally when booking.
Step Five - Have Fun!
Planning a hen do can seem like a military operation, but ones you've booked it, paid for it and got your outfit sorted, grab a cocktail and have fun! The bride-to-be will enjoy her night more if you're enjoying it too....
